UEFA’S 55 MEMBER ASSOCIATIONS HAVE REPORTEDLY AGREED TO BOYCOTT THE MEN AND WOMEN FIFA WORLD CUP

Football could be heading for one of the biggest power struggles in it’s history.

According to reports, UEFA’s 55 member associations have held emergency talks after FIFA unveiled plans to bring private investors into the commercial business of the FIFA World Cup through a new company, FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).

As a result, a World Cup boycott is now being seriously discussed if FIFA pushes ahead with the proposal. UEFA believes the plan lacks transparency and risks placing commercial interests above the game itself, while FIFA insists it will generate billions of dollars for football development worldwide.
